Malham Cove - Right (Etching)

£ 125.00

My interpretation of the complex, dramatic, forbidding limestone cliffs at Malham Cove in North Yorkshire. There is a pair of etchings, this is the right hand side as you look at it in real life. My focus is on the many layers and different tones of the stone, using perspective to make the higher layers finer in detail. The striated limestone layers are interspersed with volunteer trees, bushes and grass clinging to the hillside and cliffs. The 'Right' etching shows more of the trees around the base of the cliffs. This natural amphitheatre can be seen from miles up the valley and is a favourite haunt of climbers and peregrine falcons.
