A sharper focus on the protective row of trees near the barn featured in another of my Dales etchings. The trees are a simplified winter tracery of branches against the dawn sky. The trunks sometimes merge with the darker tones of the land. The key features of the Dales landscape are all here, with a dry stone wall across the foreground and the soft folds of pasture crumpling away into the distance.
